Iceland participated in the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin ( Italy ), but did not win a single medal. All five members of the Icelandic national team competed in alpine skiing (for men for the first time since 1960). The head of the Icelandic delegation to the Games is Gudmündür Jacobsson [1] .
