Lietuvēns ( Latvian: Lietuvēns [1] ) - a creature from Latvian mythology, the personification of nightmares and suffocation in the form of an evil spirit that sends nightmares at night to people and pets. Lietuonis is able to penetrate residential buildings even through keyholes and, in addition to causing nightmares, can strangle a victim.
