Kirika Yumura

Kirika Yumura ( 夕 叢 霧 香 Yu: Mura Kirika ) is one of the main characters in the 26-episode anime series Noir , created by Bee Train. Her past is obscured by amnesia. She woke up in an unfamiliar house, her only recollections were the word “Noir”, which she believed was her last name and the name Mireille Bouquet - the best contract killer in the world. Ultimately, they come together to unveil the veil of secrecy over the past of both and the name Noir. In 2002, in the grand prix of Animage magazine, this heroine took sixth place among female characters [1] . According to producer Shigeru Kitayama, the image of Kiriki was planned as the image of a sweet and fragile girl [2] .

Criticism Perceptions

As the review of AniMag magazine notes, the appearance of Margaret Barton, the heroine of a later work by Bee Train , Madlax , is extremely reminiscent of the appearance of Kiriki. However, the image of Kirika itself has nothing to do with the image of Margaret [3] The ANN reviewer notes that partly both the image of Kirika and her companions were borrowed from the main characters of the famous anime Dirty Pair . Mireille is an athletic, long-haired beauty. Whereas Kirika is a short-haired girl whose behavior is closer to that of a boy. However, the character of the heroines has nothing to do with the heroines of the Dirty Pair. Kirika’s quiet character and the fact that she practically does not show her emotions, was rather borrowed from Rei Ayanami . However, unlike Rei, Kirik does not know who she is or what her mission is. Her fragility and vulnerability, manifested in the anime, make her a harbinger of moe- mania corresponding to the release of the anime of the decade. The contrast between her fragility and outstanding combat skills allowing even a plastic card to kill make her the best companion for Mireille. [four]

Reviews from themanime.org indicate that Kirika looks like an ordinary action heroine - she has excellent killer skills, but due to amnesia she is forced to ask Mireille to help find out who she is. At first glance, she looks like an unremarkable, quiet and somewhat introverted schoolgirl. And this her closed and soft nature is also typical of stories about heroines who have lost their memory. However, in contrast to what is usually expected from such heroines, Kirik also hides the dark side of her personality. In fact, she is a ruthless and inventive killer. And all that can be used as a weapon, Kirika uses it as a weapon [5] [6]

Personal qualities

Kirika is a black-haired student with a red-green eye in a Japanese school. She is quiet, speculative, phlegmatic, her eyes are often fixed on the sky, she rarely expresses any strong emotions. She dresses modestly, her choice is a blue miniskirt and a white sweatshirt with large pockets. She loves cats and ice cream. She has a liking and talent for painting. Often shows kindness and sympathy for other people, despite his profession. Kirika's weapon is the Beretta M1934, which she has owned since childhood.

Despite his young age and lack of memories, Kirik has quite a lot of professional skills as a killer and a soldier. It easily kills a person with a single shot, can perform many acrobatic techniques for killing, and also use almost any improvised item as a weapon. Her killer skills are many times superior to the skills of her partner - Mireille. The style of murder of Kirika Mireille is often called "rude" and "dirty."

Of the three young "trees" - Mireille, Chloe and Kiriki, Altena calls Kirika the most suitable for the role of one of the Noir. Chloe believes that this is exactly what Noir does — killing without a shadow of doubt on her face and soul. As a child, Kirika demonstrated this quality of personality - during training, she killed Mireille's parents. At the beginning of the story, due to amnesia, she cannot remember this, but still remembers when she sees how they destroy the village, whose inhabitants defended it.

Despite the outward hostility, she is often sad because of her murders. She also demonstrates empathy and concern for others, especially Mireille, even though the Corsican decides to kill her after receiving an answer to all their questions. Kirika peacefully takes this initiative. Her murder of Mireille's parents is a particularly difficult case for her, after she found out, Kirika asks Mireille to kill her, but she cannot. The burden of her many murders and her sadness are themed in the series.

History

It is not known who Kirika's parents were and whether she even had a family. From infancy, she was brought up as a murderer, she committed her first murder at about 5 (?) Years. Kirika possessed tremendous killer potential, which caused admiration for Chloe, the second girl who claims to be in Noir. Her ability to kill instantly, without delay and a shadow of doubt, is the most valuable in Les Soldats. Only once did Kirika hesitate before the murder of Odette Bouquet, the mother of Mireille, who before her death asked her to look after her daughter and said that if “love can really kill, then hatred can never save lives.”

In 2010, Kirika woke up at home (not the fact that this is her real home) without any memories. The only thing she remembered was the name Noir, her former name and the name Mireille Bouquet, Europe’s best hired assassin. Kirik’s turned out to have: Mireille’s pocket watch, a gun and student ID in the name of “Yumur Kirik” (from here she found out her name, possibly a fictitious one). Inviting Mireille to make a “pilgrimage to the past”, she interested her in the tune from her pocket watch, which the Corsican heard only once - over the bodies of her dead parents. For Mireille, this is a clue, a way to find the killers of his parents. And for Kirika Mireille - the last hope to find out who she is.

Presumably a few days before the arrival of Mireille, Kirika was attacked by people of Les Soldats, killing them all in the forest. After the arrival of Mireille, Kirika destroyed another squad in the building under construction.

Together with Mireille, Kirika performed a series of contract killings, but as it turned out later, all these tasks are just a test for the chosen one to bear the name of one of Noir. Kirika, along with Mireille, tried to get to the truth in the search for Les Soldats, but the truth only shocked her. When, with the help of Chloe, it turned out that it was Kirika who killed Mireille's parents, then Kirika begged Mireille to kill her, as they agreed. However, Mireille could not raise her hand at the girl whom she managed to love (although she was very afraid to become attached).

After the shock, Kirik finds herself in a small village on the Franco-Spanish border. She finds out that this village is a checkpoint between the outside world and the "Mansion" - the home of Altena. After the armed forces come to the village and sweep it clean, Kirika recalls her old character - cruel, cynical, cold. Gradually he takes possession of it completely. Chloe also announces that she loves Kiriku. However, on the eve of the ceremony, Mireille enters the “Mansion” in order to save his girlfriend. Seeing what she turned into, Mireille enters into a duel with her and returns Kirik to normal with the help of a watch. Kirika recalls the request of Odette Bouquet and her words. After a duel between Mireille and Chloe, he stops the latter before killing the first. Chloe, maddened by jealousy, attacks Kirika and fights with her. After Kiriki’s request to lay down her arms, Chloe still tries to kill Mireille. And then Kirika, protecting her friend, kills Chloe. The episode with her death is recognized as the most tragic in the series.

After the death of Chloe, along with Mireille, he kills all the inhabitants of the "Mansion" and then they go to fight with Altena. Kirika, protecting Mireille, is wounded and tries to commit suicide by dumping Altena in the lava under the altar. However, Mireille asks Kirik to stay and pulls her out. They go home, on the way Mireille asks Kirik to warm tea at home.
