According to the church tradition set forth by Flodoard in his work “The History of the Reims Church”, Saint Sinnik, a Roman by birth, was a disciple of the holy Apostle Peter . He was ordained and sent to Gaul together with Saint Sixtus , the first bishop of Reims, and at first led the diocese of Soissons . After the death of Sixtus, Saint Sinnicky was elected second bishop of Reims. Saint Sinnicky died on September 1 (September calendars ), 68, and was buried next to Saint Sixtus. Subsequently, his relics were transferred to the Reims church of St. Remigius . Sinnikia was succeeded by Saint Amansius in the Diocese of Reims.

Based on a study of sources on the succession of the Reims bishops, historians came to the conclusion that Saint Sinniky lived not in the 1st century, but in the second half of the 3rd century (presumably, died in 286), and his time in the department of Reims fell on the 280th years [1] .
