History
Before, the village was a farm and consisted of Cossacks of various villages and Little Russians , who in 1811 were made up as Cossacks. In 1747, this farm was called the Grushevsky camp, and in 1790 it was renamed the village. "The village of Grushevskaya stretched out over the mountain for almost seven miles and was located on the right side of the river Tuzlova at the confluence of it on the right side of the river Grushevka " [2] . The village was divided into three parts: Novoselovka, Grushevka, Kachevan. By 1915, there were 914 courtyards, 3444 inhabitants, 2 churches, 2 ministerial schools, a parochial school, a steam mill.
Cossacks sowed barley, spring wheat. Flax and millet did not sow at all. Of the vegetables dominated potatoes, corn, sunflower. Cattle breeding was the most favorite branch of the economy. At each yard were small and large gardens. In their free time, the residents contracted to bring stone, sand, and yellow clay to Novocherkassk , Rostov , and Nakhichevan . This clay rubbed earthen floors and its consumption was very high. There were two apiaries: the local priest and the tradesman Glebov [3] .
Especially tragic pages of the history of the village were the years of the Great Patriotic War . Many residents left the village to protect the Motherland and 267 people did not return from the front. In memory of the fallen countrymen, the village residents erected a monument in a prominent place, where the names of those who did not return from the war were carved. The dead liberators of the village of Hrushevskaya are buried in a mass grave. For the exploits committed in battles with the Nazis, our countryman Guard, Corporal Andrei Eliferovich Dubikov, by the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR dated 22.07. 1944 awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union.
