Korochansky district is an administrative-territorial unit of the Russian kingdom , the Russian Empire and the RSFSR . The county was part of the Belgorod province (1727-1779), the Kursk governorship (1779β1796) and the Kursk province (1796β1924). The county town center was Korocha .

History
Korochansky County is known from the clerical descriptions as an administrative-territorial unit since the middle of the XVII century . Nearby settlements belonged to Korochansky district to Koroche, one of the cities-fortresses of Belgorod line . The city with the county was part of the Belgorod discharge . Korochansky district was formally abolished as an administrative-territorial unit in 1708 during the regional reform of Peter the Great , and Korocha became part of the Kiev gubernia "for proximity to Kiev" [2] .
In 1719 the provinces were divided into provinces , Korocha was assigned to the Belgorod province of the Kiev province.
In 1727, the Belgorod Province , consisting of the Belgorod, Oryol and Sevsky Provinces , was separated from the Kiev Province. Korochansky district was reestablished as part of the Belgorod province of the Belgorod province.
In 1779, as a result of the provincial reform of Catherine II, the Belgorod province was abolished. Korochansky district, whose borders were revised (in particular, the abolished Yablonovsky district was included in its structure), became part of the Kursk governorship .
In 1796, the Kursk governorship was transformed into the Kursk province . A part of the territory of Korochansky district was transferred to Starooskolsky district , but a part of Novooskolsky district and a small territory, which ceased from the abolished Kharkiv governorship, was annexed to Korochansky district.
In 1802, in connection with the restoration of the counties, which were abolished in 1796, the borders of Korochansky district were once again revised. C 1802 to 1924 Korochansky County existed without significant territorial changes.
In 1918, several volosts of Korochansky district were occupied by the troops of the German Empire . In the period between 1918 and 1924, the composition and names of the townships and village councils included in the county were revised several times.
According to the decree of the Presidium of the All-Russian Central Executive Committee of May 12, 1924, Korochansky district was abolished, and its territory almost completely became part of the enlarged Belgorod district .
In 1928 , after the liquidation of the Kursk province and the transition to regional , district and district division, the Korochansky district was created, which entered the Belgorod district of the Central Black Earth region .
