Gameplay
The game takes place on behalf of the head of the family - Gomez Adams, whose goal is to find the rest of the family. All of them, except for Ruka and Dvoretsky Larch, were abducted and hidden in numerous rooms of a large mansion . The game is not divided into levels in the usual sense of the word, the main character is free to move around the floors and rooms of the building in almost any order. The main thing - to have a key that opens access to the room or attic.
The mansion is full of all sorts of secrets, traps and enemies - all kinds of animals, live objects and flying skulls. There is no weapon as such, Gomez, instead, to eliminate the enemy, you need to jump on top of him (like Super Mario ). Sometimes you can pick up items (for example, golf balls ), which the hero can throw at enemies. In addition, the game scattered bonus items: packs of dollars, gold bars and precious stones. The amount collected is displayed in the corner of the screen. The NES game required $ 1,000,000 to free his wife Moritishia.
Since the conservation system in the games of those years was not, the game has a password system that allows you to continue from the place of the last game.
Other versions of the game
Later, the game appeared in a slightly modified form on the NES and on the Sega Master System / Sega Game Gear (the latter released Acclaim , not Ocean ). They also Gomez is looking for his abducted relatives in the mansion and there are similar locations. They were moved in 1994 with simplified graphics and slightly modified gameplay. In addition, three more versions of the game were released: one for the PC Engine , the second for the Game Boy and the third for the Amstrad CPC , ZX Spectrum and Commodore 64 .
