Born February 25, 1805. In 1816 he entered the Naval Cadet Corps , from which on March 1, 1822 he was released by the midshipman ( midshipman from 1819).
Until 1825 he served in Arkhangelsk .
Transferred to Kronstadt , until 1854 he sailed almost without interruptions in the Baltic and Mediterranean Seas and in the Gulf of Finland , served on the ships Tsar Konstantin, Sisoy Veliky, frigates Kastor and Elena. In 1828 he was promoted to lieutenant . In 1837 he was appointed commander of the schooner "America", and two years later - the schooner " Rain ", since 1840 he commanded the brig "Agamemnon". Captain of the 2nd rank since 1846, captain of the 1st rank since 1849.
In 1854-1855, Poskochin corrected the post of chief of staff of the main commander of the Kronstadt port, and in 1856, for the difference in repelling the attacks of the Anglo-French fleet on Sveaborg and Kronstadt , he was promoted to rear admiral with the appointment of captain over the port of St. Petersburg.
Two years later, Poskochin received an appointment to be part of the Ministry of the Sea, in 1861 he was promoted to vice admiral with dismissal from service.
He died in St. Petersburg on July 23, 1886, was buried in the Smolensk Orthodox Cemetery.
Among other awards, Poskochin had the Order of St. George 4th degree, granted to him on November 26, 1848 for carrying out 18 naval campaigns (No. 7991 according to the list of Grigorovich-Stepanov’s cavalier list ).
His son, Constantine, was an undercover adviser. Brother, Peter , in the rank of captain-lieutenant in 1840 was awarded the Order of St. George 4th degree.
