Dobrich Dobrichevich (( Croatian Dobrić Dobričević , dalm. Bonino De 'Bonini; 1454 - 1528 , Treviso ) is one of the pioneers of printing in Europe .
He was born on the small island of Lastovo of the Dubrovnik Republic (now - Croatia ) in 1454 . He printed books in Venice , Verona , Brescia , Lyon . Among the works published by him are the works of the ancient authors Tibull , Catullus , Properius , Virgil , Plutarch , Aesop , and, for example, Dante ’s Divine Comedy . Books printed by him are considered the best examples of typography of that time . His bilingual edition (in Latin and Italian ) of Aesop's Fable and Dante 's Divine Comedy was first published in Brescia in 1487 , and then in Lyon . Fifty of his books are known, most of which are about 40, and belong to the period 1483 - 1491 , when he was in Brescia . 19 of its publications belong to Croatia , but most of them are in the British Museum of London .
