Limnognathia maerski are microscopic animals that were discovered in 1994 in a freshwater source on the island of Disko in western Greenland [1] , in the region of 70 ° C. sh. [3] Danish researchers Reinhart Möbjerg Christensen and Peter Funk ( dat. Peter Funch ), who described them, based on the similarity of the structure of the integument and maxillary apparatus, proposed to consider this species as part of the Gnathifera group, which also includes gnatostomulids , rotifers and scrapers [4] .
