Czechoslovakia at the Olympics

For the first time Czechoslovakia took part in the Summer Olympics in 1920 in Antwerp, and since then has participated in all the Summer Olympics, except the Games in Los Angeles in 1984 . At the Winter Olympics, Czechoslovak athletes made their debut in Chamonix in 1924 and have not missed a single Winter Olympics ever since. From 1900 to 1912 , Czechoslovak athletes participated in the Olympics as part of the Bohemian team. After the collapse of Czechoslovakia in 1993 , the Czech Republic and Slovakia began sending independent teams to the Olympics.

During their performance at the Olympic Games, Czechoslovak athletes won 168 Olympic medals : 51 gold, 57 silver and 60 bronze. Czechoslovakia won the most medals in competitions in gymnastics and athletics .
