Biography

He entered the service in the Don Cossack army on June 6, 1853, and cornet from September 28, 1854 , took part in the Crimean War .

Lieutenant since April 12, 1859 , staff captain from April 23, 1861 , captain from April 17, 1862 , colonel from March 27, 1866 . During this time, Chernozubov commanded squadrons and divisions in various Don regiments.

On May 16, 1872 he was appointed commander of the 22nd Don Cossack Regiment and on February 26, 1877 he headed the 2nd brigade of the Consolidated Caucasian Cossack Division, at the head of which he performed at the Danube Theater of the Russian-Turkish War . On October 28 of the same year, Chernozubov was appointed commander of the 2nd Brigade of the 9th Cavalry Division, and on February 23, 1878 he was given command of the 2nd Brigade of the 1st Don Cossack Division. For numerous differences against the Turks, Blacktooth was awarded several orders and a golden saber with the inscription "For courage." Also on July 18, 1877, he was promoted to major general .

Since March 2, 1889, Chernozubov commanded the 2nd Brigade of the 7th Cavalry Division.

The exact date of death of Chernozubov has not been established, it is known that by 1896 he was no longer in the service.

His son, Fedor , was a lieutenant general and commanded the Persian Cossack Brigade .

The name of G. F. Chernozubov is in the street in the city of Kardzhali ( Bulgaria ). His name is stamped on a memorial plaque in Momchilgrad ( Kardzhali region ), liberated by troops under his command.

  • Order of St. Vladimir , 2nd degree (1884).
