Cedar mithras

Dmitry Ivanovich Korepanov (pseudonym - Kedra Mitrei , September 16 ( 29 ), 1892 - November 11, 1949 ) is a Russian and Soviet Udmurt writer . In 1938 he was repressed . Rehabilitated September 17, 1956 [1] .

Biography

Born on September 16 ( September 29 ), 1892 in a peasant family in the village of Igra. In 1904, he graduated with honors from Igrinsky Parish School, and then in 1907, a two-year school in the village of Zura. He studied at the Kazan Foreign Teacher Seminary. Due to the conflict with the lawmaker and actively displayed atheism, Korepanov was dismissed from the seminary. In search of work, he traveled to Izhevsk, Sarapul, Kazan, Perm, Glazov, while collecting samples of oral poetry of the Udmurts. He taught in the village of Kulaki, Sarapul County. In June 1914 he was drafted into the army - participated in the First World War . He was called up to serve in a military unit in the Far East in the city of Blagoveshchensk . There he began his literary work. He got involved in active public work, published the Grom newspaper, wrote articles about new life, the Udmurt people, and the development of the Udmurt language. During the Civil War, Kedra Mitrei was in Irkutsk. He took part in the partisan movement in Siberia, was captured by the Kolchakites . Also there during the war he married a Polish girl [2] .

In 1920, the writer returned to his homeland - for three years he headed the department of public education in Zur and Debosy. In 1922 he joined the Bolshevik party.

In 1921, Kedra Mitrei published the first historical poem in the Udmurt poetry “Hubert Batyr”, dedicated to the initial events of the accession of Udmurtia to Russia, and in 1929 his novel “Secyt zybet” (“The Heavy Yoke”) was published, which became the first novel in the Udmurt literature. In 1932, in the publishing house "Fiction" this novel was published in Russian by the author.

In August 1934 - together with M. Konovalov and G. Medvedev - took part in the First Congress of Soviet Writers .

In 1938, Kedra Mitrei was undeservedly repressed: he was arrested on May 8, 1938 and sentenced to 8 years on May 16, and released in 1946. Two years later, in 1948, he was again repressed: he was arrested again. He died on November 11, 1949, while in exile, in the village of Chumakovo, Mikhailovsky District, Novosibirsk Region .

Ash Terek

In 1915, in Blagoveshchensk, Kedra Mitrei wrote the poetic tragedy “Esterek”. This is the name of the hero, taken from Udmurt folklore. This is a young man, the leader who committed the crime, in order to become the leader of the Udmurt people and for the sake of his beloved girl. When he realizes his treasonable act, he throws himself from a cliff.

Idna Batyr

Has a subtitle “From the history of the struggle of the Udmurts with Mari”. The struggle for power, the theme of the condemnation of religion. The main character - a pagan priest, provokes the leader of the Udmurts to war with the Mari. Old leader Idne manages to uncover the plot. The play ends with the reconciliation of the Udmurts with the Mari.

Cedar did not have reliable evidence of what was happening between the Udmurts and the Mari, all the facts drew them from folklore.

Hubert Batyr

The poem was written in 1928. Hubert is a fictional character. The author seeks to emphasize that land grabbing is the misfortune of the Udmurt peoples.

Heavy Yoke

The first historical novel in Udmurt literature. Shows the historical past of the Udmurt people as part of the Moscow state, national and religious oppression. The novel has a lot of ethnographic material. The main character Dangyr is a young man, a hunter who lives with his mother, in a poor little hut.

The second part of the novel about the love relationship between Dangyr and his girlfriend. The main theme is the historical past, which seems sad, the oppression experienced by the Udmurt people.

Memory

  • In 1992, on the 100th anniversary of the writer, a monument was erected in the village of Igry in Udmurtia on the site of the parental house on Sovetskaya Street. (sculptor Anatoly Anikin, architect Kasim Galikhanov) [3] .
