Saffron alatavsky [2] , or Crocus Alatawa ( lat. Crócus alatávicus ), is a tuber bulbous herbaceous perennial plant , a species of the genus Saffron ( Crocus ) of the family Iris, or Iris ( Iridaceae ).

Dissemination and ecology
It is found in Central Asia .
It grows in mountain meadows.
Botanical description
Plant 10-30 cm tall
Corm rounded spherical, 1.2-2 cm in diameter.
Leaves , 6-9 in number, about 1.5 mm wide, 8-10 cm long when flowering, and up to 20 cm during the fruiting period.
The perianth in the throat is yellowish, the lobes are narrowed, whitish, the three outer ones are painted in a dirty purple or pale yellow-brown color, less often purely white. Stigmas are orange, whole. Blossoms at the end of March. Fruiting in July.
A set of chromosomes 2n = 20.
Classification
The species Saffron Alatava is included in the genus Saffron ( Crocus ) of the subfamily Saffron ( Crocoideae ) of the family Iris ( Iridaceae ) of the order Asparagales .
