Biography

Born in the family of a metalworker.

In 1922 he graduated from the 16th Army Red Army University - Agricultural College, in 1937 - the Agrarian Institute of the Red Professors, in 1955 - graduate school of the Moscow Veterinary Academy, Candidate of Agricultural Sciences (1955).

In 1909 he graduated from a village school, then was a farm laborer of a monastery farm, from 1914 in Moscow, a metal-rolling machine at the Guzhon plant.

In 1916 he was mobilized and served as an ordinary telephone operator in the 12th Army of the Southwestern Front .

In February 1917 he was wounded and demobilized, worked on the Moscow-Kursk Railway.

In the years 1918-1920. served in the Red Army , participated in the Warsaw campaign of the Red Army .

In 1920-1922 He was a student at an agricultural technical school, after which he led various state farms in the Crimea and the Moscow province.

In 1931-1932 He studied at the graduate school of the All-Union Institute of Vegetable Production, and from September 1933 to December 1937 - at the Agrarian Institute of the Red Professor , at the same time he was a propagandist of the Moscow Regional Committee of the CPSU (B.).

In February 1938, he was appointed an instructor in the department of governing party bodies of the Central Committee of the All-Union Communist Party of Bolsheviks, and a month later he was sent to Sverdlovsk as second secretary of the regional committee of the All-Union Communist Party of Bolsheviks. On March 31, 1938, by the decision of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the All-Union Communist Party of Bolsheviks, the first secretary of the regional committee, Abram Stolyar, was removed from his post (two weeks later), and Medvedev was assigned the duties of the first secretary of the regional committee, but he was at the head of the regional party organization for less than a month: On April 27, Chekist K.N. Valukhin was appointed acting first secretary of the regional committee. He remained in the post of second secretary of the regional committee until February 1939, was one of the few leaders of the region in the 1920s and 1930s who was able to avoid repression in the second half of the 1930s. Nevertheless, in January 1939 he received a warning because he “did not show Bolshevik principles and did not raise the question of Comrade Valukhin’s non-partisan behavior before the Central Committee of the CPSU (B.)”.

In 1939-1954 - Director of the Moscow Zootechnical Institute ( Balashikha , Moscow region), in 1941-1943. the institute was evacuated in Samarkand, and after restoration it was renamed the Moscow Fur and Fur Institute.

In 1954, after a 20-year hiatus, he continued his studies in graduate school (at the Moscow Veterinary Academy ), which he graduated with the defense of a dissertation in June 1955.

In 1956-1957 - and. about. Associate Professor and Associate Professor of the Moscow Veterinary Academy.

Since May 1957, retired.
