Design Description
The tank is a classic layout, with the shift of the control compartment and the fighting compartment to one side, and the engine and transmission to the other. For the first time, a double tower was used.
Armored Corps and Tower
The hull and turret of the tank were assembled from rolled armor plates by riveting and fastened to the frame from the corners. Armor plates were installed with rational angles of inclination.
Armament
The armament of the tank consisted of a 25-mm Hotchkiss tank gun with ammunition of 75 artillery rounds and one Ribeaux machine gun of 7.5 mm caliber with 1750 rounds of ammunition. The tankβs gun was based on a towed anti-tank gun of French manufacture and was a fairly modern model of weapons at that time. The cannon could penetrate the armor of almost any tank of the world existing at that time at reasonable ranges of fire contact.
Monitoring and communication tools
Engine and transmission
The four-cylinder carbureted in-line liquid-cooled engine of Renault with a capacity of 120 horsepower used automobile gasoline as fuel. Compared with previous Renault tank models, the volume was significantly increased and engine power was increased.
Chassis
In the AMC 34YR tank, a caterpillar mover and suspension were used, which by that time had already proved itself well on the AMR 33 / AMR 35 models. For one side, the chassis consisted of four rubberized support rollers , four support rollers , a rear steering wheel. The drive wheel was in front. The suspension was pendulum, with transverse springs made of rubber .
