NGC 1316 ( Oven A ) is a galaxy in the constellation Oven . The unusual structure of this galaxy was formed as a result of a collision of galaxies. She supposedly about 3 billion years ago absorbed a spiral galaxy . About 100 million years ago, it began to absorb the neighboring smaller spiral galaxy with the jumper NGC 1317 [3] . It contains a bright radio source Oven A.
