Darginsky district is an administrative unit of the Derbent province , the Dagestan region and the Dagestan Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic , which existed in 1854 - 1928 . The center is the village of Levashi .

History
Darginsky district as part of the Derbent province was formed in 1854. In 1860 it became part of the Dagestan region. In 1921 it became part of the Dagestan ASSR.
In November 1928, canton division was introduced in the Dagestan Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic and all districts were abolished.
Population
According to the 1897 census, 80.9 thousand people lived in the okrug. Including Dargins - 91.3%; Laks - 4.6%; Avars - 3.9%. 1343 people lived in the village of Levashi. [one]
Administrative Division
The district was divided into naibes , which in 1899 were converted into plots. The plots were divided into societies.
In 1895, there were 5 naivets in the county: Akushinskoye (center - the village of Akusha ), Kutishinskoye (center - the village of Levashi ), Mekeginskoye (the center - the village of Mekega ), Syurginskoye (the center - the village of Urari ), Tsudakhar [2] .
By 1926, the district was divided into 4 sections: Akushinsky (center - v . Levashi ), Mekeginsky (center - v . Mekega ), Syurginsky (center - v. Urari ), Tsudaharsky (center - v. Tsudahar ).
