Geographical position
Distance to the regional center : 91 km. Distance to the district center : 18 km.
History
It was founded in 1890 as the German village of Marxstadt ( German Marxstadt ; also Marktstadt, German Marktstadt ). Until 1917, it belonged to the Caucasian department of the Kuban region . In the Soviet period, the period was part of the Novo-Aleksandrovsky district of the Ordzhonikidze region . In 1933, the Gorky State Farm was established here [4] .
In accordance with the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the RSFSR of September 21, 1964, the village The village of the central estate of the Gorkovsky farm was renamed the village of Gorkovsky [1] .
It was the administrative center of the municipality "Rural Settlement Gorky Village Council " (abolished on May 1, 2017 [5] ).
