The simple iris ( Latin Donacia simplex ) is a species of leaf beetles from the subfamily of the iris . It is widespread in Europe , Siberia , Altai , Sayan Mountains , Mongolia and Inner Mongolia ( China ) [2] .

Adults are 7–10 mm long [3] . The body is copper red, bronze or green, rarely blue. Each of the elytra on an elongated apex is directly blunted or slightly arches [3] .
Beetles feed on the leaves of sedge , mannik and popoliferous pop-up [2] [3] .
