Geography

The village is located on the left bank of the Terek River to the north-east of the regional center of the village of Shelkovskaya , on the P262 Stavropol - Kraynovka highway ( Chervlennaya - Kizlyar section ). To the west of the village is the railway line of the North Caucasus Railway .

The nearest settlements: in the north-east - the village of Kargalinskaya , in the south-west - the village of Starogladovskaya , in the east - Khoshgeldiotar (a kutan of the collective farm named after Makhach Dakhadaev , Dagestan ) [6] [7] .

To the east of the village, the irrigation canal of the Naur-Shelkov branch connects to the Terek. To the south of Kurdyukovskaya is the tract Shcherbakovo, to the north - the tract Poyma [8] .

History

The village of Kurdyukovskaya arose, possibly, in 1711-1712, during the resettlement of the Greben Cossacks on the instructions of the Kazan governor Count P.M. Apraksin on the left bank of the Terek, where they founded several settlements stretching along the river for an area of almost 80 km [9 ] . Among these settlements are Gladkovskaya (later two villages - Novogladkovskaya and Starogladkovskaya ), Kurdyukovskaya (Kordyukovskaya) , Chervlennaya and Shchedrinskaya (Shchadrinskaya) [10] . Another important date for the history of the villages of the Grebensky Cossack army , formed in 1711-1712, is the year 1725 - it is to this year that the sources of Kurdyukovskaya, Starogladkovskaya, Chervlennaya and Shchedrinskaya are actually referred to as separate sources. Also, the date of foundation of Kurdyukovskaya and Starogladkovskaya dates back to 1735.

In 1812, Kurdyukovskaya was moved 2 versts from the coast of the Terek due to severe floods [11] . The village was part of Grebenskaya , and since 1845 - the Kizlyar Cossack Regiment of the Caucasian Linear Cossack Army [12] . As of 1874, there were 171 houses in the village with 850 inhabitants, Orthodox and Old Believers lived [13] . In 1888, the village Cossacks were part of His Imperial Majesty's Convoy .

In the 1990s, crimes against the Russian population took place in the village, as well as in other settlements of the Shelkovsky district [14] [15] .
