From the Kumyk language the name of the village is translated as “acidic water”.
Content
Geographical position
Located 20 km south-east of the district center - the village of Karabudakhkent . Near the village flows the river Achisu . The distance to the nearest train station Achi 5 km.
History
Formed in connection with the development of gas and oil fields. The status of the urban-type settlement - since 1938 [4] .
As of 1959, the village was called Achi-Su [5] , later - Achisu. In 2006, a change was approved to the all-Russian classifier of objects of administrative-territorial division , according to which the settlement was again called Achi-Su [6] .
