Biography
Born on December 20, 1924 in the village of Chuprovo, Torzhok District , now the Tver Region, in a peasant family. Russian. Primary education. He worked on the farm .
In the Red Army since July 1942. Member of the Great Patriotic War since August 1942. In April 1945, wounded and contused.
In the battles of the division on the river Zhizdra in 1942, Nikolai Abramov penetrated into the rear of the enemy, withstood an unequal battle with the Nazis, remained unharmed and brought two “languages” to the headquarters.
In 1943, in the area of Slipčitsy, having missed his unit, which was retreating to a new frontier, he, using German mines, managed to set 35 min. The next day, five German tanks hit them. For bravery, he was awarded the Order of Glory 3rd degree.
Commanding the Department of the 7th Guards Przemysl Cavalry Regiment (2nd Guards Crimean twice Red Banner Order of Bogdan Khmelnitsky Cavalry Division name SNK USSR, the 1st Guards Cavalry Corps, 1st Ukrainian Front ) Guard Sergeant Nikolai Abramov in February 1945 participated in repelling a series of counterattacks, causing great damage to the enemy.
He especially distinguished himself on April 24–25, 1945, when crossing the Elbe River near the city of Meissen (Germany).
By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of June 27, 1945 "for exemplary performance of combat tasks of the command at the front of the struggle against the German fascist invaders and showing courage and heroism", the sergeant Nikolai Aleksandrovich Abramov was awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union with the award of the Order of Lenin and medal Gold Star (No. 7912).
Demobilized in late 1945. He lived and worked in Leningrad. He died on August 4, 1976. He was buried at the Theological Cemetery in Leningrad.
