Cannabis Museums

Museum of hash, marijuana and hemp in Amsterdam .

Cannabis museums today exist in many countries of the world.

Perhaps the most famous and most visited of them [1] , the Hash Marihuana Hemp Museum , opened in Amsterdam in 1991 as a private collection of the famous hemp grower Ben Dronkers . The exposition is mainly devoted to psychotropic hemp , but there are stands dedicated to hemp sowing . In a separate museum room behind the glass, there is an active hydroponic greenhouse with 400 and 1000 W lamps and powerful hemp bushes. All the components necessary to create a greenhouse, including seeds , can be purchased at the exit of the museum.

The Berlin Cannabis Museum ( German: Hanf Museum ), which opened in 1994, has a significantly smaller area and less rich exposure. Here are photographs, paintings and historical documents on the topic of hemp cultivation. The main advantage of the Berlin Museum is that it is available on the Internet.

The French Musee du Chanvre is located in Bligny and is fully dedicated to the cultivation and processing of hemp in the pre-industrial era. Visitors can see agricultural implements, spinning wheels, looms, samples of ropes, fabrics and garments from hemp canvas. The walls of the museum are covered with photographs of buildings built using hemp fiber.

The Myasamura Museum of Japan is located in the eponymous village on the west coast of Honshu Island, near Tokyo. This is a village headman’s house built entirely of hemp. In 1966, it was declared a national monument. Until the early 1960s, the village of Myasamura was a pan-Japanese center for hemp breeding, but at the moment hemp has only museum value.

The Cannabis Museum (or Marijuana Museum) in Barcelona opened in 2012 . [2]

There is no specialized museum of hemp breeding in Russia, however, expositions devoted to the cultivation and processing of hemp sowing exist in several historical and local history museums. The most extensive of them is in the Museum-Reserve of Folk Architecture on the island of Kizhi (Karelia).
