With the end of 9 classes he worked as secretary of the Nazarovsky district committee of the Komsomol of the Krasnoyarsk Territory .

Military Service

He was drafted into the ranks of the Red Army in 1928, and served as the Red Army soldier of the 36th Rifle Division . In 1929, he participated in battles on the CER . From 1930 to 1935, Abramov served as commander of a small platoon, secretary of the Komsomol bureau of the regiment, commissar of a communications battalion.

In 1938 he graduated from the Military-Political Academy. Lenin . From 1938 to 1939 he served as military commissar of the mechanized brigade, military commissar of the 15th Panzer Corps . In March 1939 he was appointed head of the political department of the Siberian Military District ( Novosibirsk ).

Participation in the Great Patriotic War

With the outbreak of war, the 24th Army was formed on the basis of the district, in which Konstantin Abramov also became the head of the political department.

As part of the Reserve Front, the 24th Army, under the command of Major General K.I. Rakutin , showed itself well in the Battle of Smolensk and played a decisive role in the Elninsky offensive operation , which took place in September 1941 . Konstantin Abramov in these battles showed his personal courage and talent as a military political worker and was highly respected by the troops. Thanks to the work of Abramov, the army had high moral and military stability of the personnel. In October 1941, together with the army, he fell into the Vyazemsky cauldron , during which he was wounded. With a group of fighters managed to break out of the environment.

From December 1941 to May 1942 he worked as a member of the Military Council of the 24th Army of the second formation, which was forming in the Moscow Military District .

Since June 1942, he worked as a member of the Military Council of the 64th Army , which distinguished itself during the Battle of Stalingrad . From August 1942 to February 1943, together with the commander of the 64th Army, Shumilov, he was at the front line in Stalingrad .

On December 6, 1942, the military rank of Major General was awarded.

From June to August 1943 he was a member of the Military Council of the 63rd Army , which at that time took part in the Oryol offensive operation .

From August 1943 until the end of the war he served as a member of the Military Council of the 6th Guards Army , which took part in the liberation of Left-Bank Ukraine , in the Nevel , Gorodok , Belorussian , Baltic operations and in the blockade of the enemy Kurland group .

In the Vitebsk-Orshansk and Polotsk operations, Major General Abramov, being in the front lines of the army, ensured the speed of their offensive in the depths of the Nazi defenses: the army traveled from 20 to 40 kilometers per day. By the end of the second day of the offensive, the advanced units of the army in the Vitebsk region to the Zapadnaya Dvina river, which, under the leadership of Major General Abramov, crossed the river and secured themselves on the west bank. These actions allowed the other armies of the front to close the ring around the Vitebsk Nazi group , destroying it in just two days. Continuing the offensive, he participated in breaking through the fortified line of defense of the Army Group Center south of Polotsk , and then, over five days, went over a hundred kilometers, while doing great damage to the retreating enemy.

By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of July 22, 1944 for skillful leadership of party and political work and personal courage during the crossing of the Western Dvina in June 1944 and the breakthrough of the enemy’s defense in the area of the city of Polotsk, Major General Konstantin Kirikovich Abramov was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union presentation of the Order of Lenin and the Golden Star medal .

In Memoirs

He came to the army from the factory, went from a private to a general.
I knew that he had studied at several military academies before the war, but everywhere he would study and leave for a year or two. Apparently, he wanted to know as much as possible, but perseverance was not enough. Then I found out that he had also graduated from a flight school and had flown over a hundred hours, and then studied again at the Academy of the General Staff.
I saw courageous people, but K.K. Abramov was distinguished by some special temperament, passion. Already being a general and Hero of the Soviet Union, he, if possible, did not miss the chance to take part in the battle himself. I was informed that near Siauliai, General Abramov ran with an anti-tank rifle behind a fascist tank and knocked him out. When I found out that this was not an isolated case. scolded him. I scold, I blame, but I myself think: here and somewhere I learned to shoot accurately from an anti-tank rifle .... Somehow, at the end of the war, it happened that he had to take me on a plane as a pilot. Frankly, I suffered fear then, although I was flying a plane and General Abramov landed it expertly ....
Konstantin Kirikovich Abramenko did a lot of good for the army, lived to see the end of the war and died in peacetime. Amazing, bright personality ... ..
