Bernhard Alois von Gudden ( German: Johann Bernhard Aloys von Gudden ; June 7, 1824 , Kleve - June 13, 1886 ) - German psychiatrist, founder of the Munich psychiatric school.

The professor of psychiatry at Zurich , then at the University of Munich , among his students and assistants were, in particular, Emil Kraepelin and Oscar Panitzsta . Combined clinical research with the study of brain anatomy. He published the magazine "Archiv für Psychiatrie" since 1868.
Bavarian Council of Ministers Chairman Johann von Lutz authorized von Goodden to head a commission that diagnosed the insanity of Bavarian King Ludwig II . Goodden was discovered dead with King Ludwig on the shore of Lake Starnberg .
