Ernest Laszlo ( born Ernest Laszlo , April 23, 1898 , Budapest - January 6, 1984 , Woodland Hills ) is an American cameraman, a native of Austria-Hungary . Winner of the Academy Award for Best Cinematography in the movie The Ship of Fools .

Biography
Born April 23, 1898 in Budapest. After emigrating to the United States, he began working as an assistant operator, making his debut on the set of the silent film Wings (1927) [4] [5] . As the main operator debuted in 1928. He made most of the films with Robert Aldrich and Stanley Kramer . He was president of the American Society of Cameramen from 1972 to 1974 [4] [5] .
His son Andrew Laszlo (1926-2011) was also a cameraman. He worked on the set of the films Warriors (1979), Rambo: First Blood (1982), Streets on Fire (1984), etc.
