Geography

The rural settlement is located in the northern part of the region, from the northwest its territory extends to the Don . In the north, the territory of the municipality borders on the Lipetsk region ; in the east - with the Komsomolsky rural settlement and the Berezovsky rural settlement ; in the south - with the Aydarovsky rural settlement and Novozhivonnovsky rural settlement ; in the west - with Sklyaevsky rural settlement . History

The township rural administration was formed in 1917 by the decree of the All-Russian Central Executive Committee and the Council of People's Commissars of the RSFSR of 12.24.1917. The boundaries and status of the Gorozhansky rural settlement were established by Art. 2 and Art. 3 of the Law of the Voronezh Region dated December 23, 2004 No. 90-OZ “On the Establishment of Borders, Granting the Appropriate Status, Determination of the Administrative Centers of the Municipalities of Novousmansky and Ramonsky Districts (as amended on October 6, 2010).

Gorozhansky Village Council is endowed with the status of Gorozhansky rural settlement.

The administrative center of the Gorozhansky rural settlement is the village of Bogdanovo.

The territory of the Gorozhansky rural settlement is constituted by the historically formed lands of the settlement, adjacent common lands, territories of traditional nature management of the population of the Gorozhansky rural settlement, recreational lands, lands for the development of the Gorozhansky rural settlement, regardless of the form of ownership and purpose, located within the boundaries of the Gorozhansky rural settlement , including settlements: v. Bogdanovo, v. Galkino, s. Gorozhanka, village of Krivoborie, village of Kuleshovka, s. The Sun is Dubrava, which is not a settlement.

The village of Gorozhanka is located on the left bank of the river. Don is 18 km away. northwest of Ramoni. A village arose around 1726. The first settler here was a peasant odnodvorets Gorozhankin, from which the name came.

The ancient village of Burovlyanka arose around 1698-1700 as a settlement near a factory producing soldiers' cloth.

In the second half of the 18th century, one of the residents of Burovlyanka, whose last name was Bogdanov, set up a farm on a nearby Zadonskaya road. The farm was named after its owner - Bogdanov.

On the maps of the middle of the XIX century, the farm was marked as Bogdanov's inn - Burovlyanskie settlements.

In recent times, in the 1960s, the construction of multi-apartment two-story houses, an eight-year school, post office, first-aid post, store, and state farm office began here. An experimental-demonstrative state farm village of the Donskoy state farm is being created. It also includes the ancient village of Burovlyanka.

Since 1967, they have been assigned a common name - Bogdanovo. [four]
