Far Eastern stem cricket [1] , or oriental trumpeter [1] ( lat. Oecanthus longicaudus ) - an insect of the family of real crickets , is found in the Far East of Russia, in China and Japan.

It has an elongated body (11-13 mm) of light green color, abdomen below with a longitudinal black stripe. Antennae thin, longer than body. Elytra transparent, shorter than wings. Females have a long ovipositor, extended at the apex. The eggs are cylindrical, yellowish, up to 3 mm in length. 2–4 pieces are laid in the stems and petioles of leaves. Larvae are similar to adults, but smaller and only with the beginnings of wings. They appear in early July, adults are found from August to September.
