Love for harmonica came to him in the sixties . The choice of instrument was influenced by listening to recordings of rock and folk artists of the time, such as Bob Dylan , the Rolling Stones .
To get to know the blues better, he traveled around America. Such famous musicians as Little Walter , Charlie McCoy , played a significant role in the formation of Milto as a blues artist.
Milto performs and records with such famous performers as Yves Montand , Eddie Mitchell , Jean-Jacques Goldman , Maxim Le Forestier , Charles Aznavour .
In 1989, Milto released his first solo album.
Album Memphis, recorded in 2001 in the USA at Universal Studios under the direction of producer Sebastian Danshen, was awarded the prestigious Victoire de la Musique French Prize as the best blues album of the year.
Jean-Jacques Milto is the author of several books on harmonica.
The German company Hohner has released a model of diatonic harmonica, which bears his name.
