Geography
The rural settlement is located in the southeastern part of the Povorinsky district. The settlement borders on the Baichurovsky and Dobrovolsky rural settlements of the Voronezh region, on the Volgograd and Saratov regions.
Population
The territory of the settlement was settled at the end of the 19th century by immigrants from the villages of Novokhopersky district, mainly from the village of Tyukovka . In the past, the villages of Stepnoye and Upper Yelan were located on the territory of the settlement, which in the middle of the 20th century were settled in other settlements.
