Name Origin
In the beginning. XVIII century - The Messenger Street (later the Messenger and Messenger Lane) [1] .
The generally accepted version of A. A. Martynov [2] is that the name is associated with the 1745 landlord by the Prussian envoy Axel von Mardefeld. However, in 1745 his house was not here at all, but on German (now Baumanskaya) st. [3] in the district of 57. In addition, Mardefeld arrived in Russia in 1724, and the name Posalnitskaya Street appears in the assembly book of 1715 [1] .
