Willow ( born Wyllow ) is a Rootville hermit and martyr . Holy Catholic Church , Memorial Day - June 3 .
Saint Willow was born in Ireland . He was allegedly beheaded by Melyn ys Kynrede in the parish of Lanteglos , near the town of Fowey . According to legend, he took his head and carried half a mile to the bridge, later called St. Willow's Bridge. In that place a church was later erected in his honor. The Life of St. Willow is reported by William of Worcester . His years of life are unknown, presumably he lived in the VI century . Nikolai Roscarrock ( Nicholas Roscarrock ) indicates June 3 as the day of his memory.
