Boaz Wachtel was born in 1958 in Israel .
After completing military service in 1980, he moved to Boston ( USA ), where he received a medical education ( bachelor 's degree ). During the Lebanon war of 1982, he worked as a doctor in the Israeli army, after its completion - as an assistant to the Israeli military attache in Washington (USA). From 1988 to 1993, Ibogaine worked in Panama and the Netherlands as part of the Howard Lotsof and Bob Sisko experimental drug treatment programs for ibogaine .
Green Leaf
The Dutch lifestyle and attitude towards “soft drugs ” made an extremely strong impression on Wachtel. Returning to his homeland in 1994 , he, along with several like-minded people, founded the Green Leaf organization, which aimed to decriminalize the use and storage of small amounts of hemp . Since 1999, the Green Leaf has been registered as a political party .
In the 1999 Knesset elections , he appeared on television with a goa-trance version of the national anthem , which attracted considerable public attention.
On May 8, 2004, in Tel Aviv during the “Marijuana Day”, Wachtel was briefly detained [1] by the police.
Boaz Wachtel led the party until May 3, 2006 .
Family, personal life
Today Boaz Wachtel is married, the father of three children and the head of a satellite television channel for Israelis living abroad.
