From the nobles of the Oryol province. [1] Until 1852, he was brought up in the Oryol Bakhtin cadet corps and in the Noble Regiment , from where he was released in 1854. He participated in a memorial service for I. Arngoldt and his comrades who were shot for revolutionary activity and who participated in the revolutionary military group in the early 60s led propaganda and distributed illegal literature among troops in the Warsaw area. The group was associated with leaders of the Polish national liberation movement . By a military court, Benecki was found guilty of "being at the time of the requisition of state criminals," for which he was transferred to the Kamchatka Infantry Regiment. In November 1863, Mr .. returned to the artillery with the appointment of the 16th artillery brigade. [2] , [3]

In 1877, lieutenant colonel of the 9th brigade of the 36th Oryol regiment. The commander of the 5th battery. [four]

Commander of the glorious circular battery. At the most critical moment of the battle at Shipka on August 23, 1877, rising to his full height on the parapet, he inspired the gunners with his fearlessness and self-control. He died the death of the brave.

By 2 p.m., the Circassian cavalry attacked the position of the defenders of the pass from the rear, trying to cut off the Gabrovskoye highway and interrupt their communications with Gabrovo . She was thrown back, but all the Russian artillerymen of the "Round" battery were killed, led by ... <...> ... Benecki. In their place stood 12 Bulgarian militias, who continued to fire until the last shell.

It was at the Shipkinsky pass when Colonel Lipinsky managed to return the retreating people; he left on the highway, on the way to the abandoned lodges, under the command of the sergeant major, and he rushed to the round battery, which was also abandoned by the gunners. Here he met a servant returning to the guns. It turned out that the commander of the round battery, Lieutenant Colonel Benitsky, seeing people retreating from the right flank and therefore assuming that a general retreat began, found it necessary to remove the locks from the guns and clean the battery, since he had no more shells left. But, noticing his mistake, Benitsky turned back with the servant, rushed to the battery, ordered to insert the locks at once, and was immediately killed by a bullet in the head. “I do not consider myself entitled to remain silent about this fact,” informed Colonel Lipinsky, among other things, to the Commander-in-Chief, “although I am deeply convinced that this happened due to a misunderstanding and can never become a stain on the memory of such a brave and commanding officer as the lieutenant colonel Benitsky, with complete disregard for danger, kept himself with his guns for three days. ”
