History
WEDNESDAY 13 is the pseudonym of Joseph Poole, the lead singer of the band of the same name. This is far from the musician’s first project, he also managed to light up as frontman Maniac Spider Trash , Frankenstein Drag Queens From Planet 13 , Bourbon Crow , Gunfire 76 and the notorious Murderdolls ( Joey Jordison , the drummer of Slipknot , became the guitarist of this group, and Tripp Eisen was the second guitarist ( Static-X ), which was subsequently replaced by Aacy Slade ( Dope )).
Murderdolls broke up in early 2004, playing their last gig on January 17 in California. Joey Jordison , one of the group's guitarists, returned to Slipknot , while vocalist Joseph Poole (aka Wednesday13) began work on new material for Murderdolls, and after a year of hard work wrote material with over 100 (!) New songs. After waiting a little while, Wednesday 13 realized that Joey would not be back in the Slipknot band any time soon and gathered a team to record a new album: guitarist Piggy D, bassist KidKid and drummer Ghastly. He himself also becomes the second guitarist. As soon as the album was recorded, Wednesday 13 sent it to Roadrunner Records, and later they agreed to release the album. [one]
As you know, Joseph is a fan of teams such as Alice Cooper , Kiss , Twisted Sister , as well as a big fan of horror films and TV shows such as the Addams Family , so the characters in his songs are vampires, zombies and other evil spirits. The style of music can be defined as Horror Punk. Joseph also loves to laugh in his songs over all existing moral principles and social rules.
In addition, the musician, along with his wife Roxana, became the creator of the cartoon characters "Thirteen Dead Kids", which eventually came out as a clothing line.
Of all the numerous groups of Wednesday 13, Bourbon Crow is worth noting, because this project really does not look like everything we are so used to, because Bourbon Crow is country music! Two acoustic guitars, leisurely drums and soulful vocals. Most of the songs are devoted to alcohol and fun events from the life of his lovers. This is a joint project of Mr. 13 with bassist Kid Kid . In Bourbon Crow, Wednesday 13 is known as Buck Burbon, and Kid Kid (real name Rayen Belchere ) as Jessie Crow.
And of course Mr. 13 TV show “ Weirdo-A-Go-Go ”! It demonstrates an unhealthy sense of humor, quite understandable to many fans who know all the "quirks" of Mr. 13. In the first episode, Wednesday 13 will show clips and trailers of cheap horror movies along with the execution of trashy but witty scenes with his strange and eccentric friends. The program promises to bring back the tradition of Saturday morning TV shows on which Wednesday 13 grew up. Like the random creations of Sid and Marty Krofft and Pee Wee's Playhouse mixed with comedy techniques from leading horror programs Commander USA, Elvira and Zacherely
Deciding to take a break from horror punk in 2009, Wednesday 13 started a new project called Gunfire 76 . In this project, the glam-rocker soul of Mr. 13 went wild. And not only the soul - outwardly, Mr. 13 underwent tremendous changes: cutting off his famous dreadlocks, growing eyebrows, and turning into a kind of Nikki Sixx, Wednesday 13 released the album " Casualties & Tragedies " and went on tour. The fans of Joseph Poole were divided into 2 camps - some did not want to accept the new hero in any way and considered him a traitor, while others welcomed all the experiments of their idol, but secretly continued to hope for the king to return to the throne of horror punk.
And the return took place! In the spring of 2010, officially confirmed news of the return of MURDERDOLLS! They have been waiting for 8 years! Currently, Joseph Poole and Joey Jordison are working in the studio, the new Murderdolls album " Women and Children Last " will be released in the summer of 2010. Participation in the project of former musicians: Acey Slade, Eric Griffin and Ben Graves ( Acey Slade , Eric Griffin , Ben Graves ) is still in doubt.
"Transylvania 90210: Songs of Death, Dying, and the Dead ..."
The debut album was released under the name "Transylvania 90210: Songs of Death, Dying, and the Dead" (translated from English. - "Transylvania 90210: Songs of Death, the Dying and the Dead." The group went on a tour in support of the album. Two clips were shot from the album: “I Walked With A Zombie”, which included footage from the movie “ Night of the Living Dead ” and “Bad Things” - which was Joseph’s shot during the tour — excerpts from concerts and also shots for backstage.
"Fang Bang"
Joseph Poole breaks the contract with Roadrunner Records and finds a new one - Rykodisc . The composition of the group is changing - KidKid decided to leave the group so that he could concentrate on his solo project; Piggy D also left the band due to the absence of some of the band's performances; drummer Ghastly is gone too. They were replaced by new members, although essentially the old ones, since Eric Griffin on the guitar, Racy Shay on the drums were in the Murderdolls . The new musician Brix began to play bass.
A new album titled “Fang Bang” was released on September 12, 2006. The style of music has become more close to ordinary punk. A clip was shot for the song “My Home Sweet Homicide”.
Skeletons
Joseph Poole himself said of the Skeletons: “It will be completely different from Fang Bang. The new album will be much harder, and probably the darkest and most personal thing I've ever recorded. ” [2]
"Fuck It, We'll Do it Live"
The band’s first live album, “Fuck It, We'll Do It Live,” was released on November 14, 2008. An audio CD and DVD pack included audio and video recordings from a concert at Crocodile Rock in Allentown , PA .
"Calling All Corpses"
Murderdolls played their last gigs in April 2011. Next, Jordison returned to Slipknot, because the group had a tour where Russia also entered. Wednesday did not waste time in vain and took the rest of the Murderdolls to his project of the same name on Wednesday 13. But then a number of changes happened. Initially, as expected, Roman will be on the guitar, Jack on the bass, Jason on the drums. But Joseph decided to make a small promotion of the group and decided to put Jack as the second guitarist, since Wednesday wanted to pay more attention to the stage than the guitar, although with some songs he still plays the guitar. Troy Droibbler, Jason's friend, came to the bass. On October 11, 2011, Wednesday 13 released an album - Calling All Corpses. It is also known that Wednesday recorded an album in honor of his ex-wife.
"Spook and Destroy EP"
A mini-album of 8 tracks was released on October 8, 2012. It included two new songs, as well as rewrites and remixes of old ones. After the release of EP Wednesday 13 went on a tour, which also affected Russia. On November 17 and 18, the band held concerts in Moscow and St. Petersburg, respectively.
"The Dixie Dead"
In 2012, Wednesday recorded enough material to release a new full-length. On February 18, 2013, the band’s fifth album was released, it included 13 songs. On January 7, a clip trailer for one of them was released for the album. It is known that Wednesday did not take part in the recording of music, but completely trusted the group, in connection with which the sound became much heavier, closer to metal than to punk.
"Undead Unplugged EP"
At the beginning of 2014, it became known about the upcoming release of an EP with acoustic versions of old songs, later Vancy went with his team on an acoustic tour, and the EP was released in July 2014.
"Monsters of the Universe"
On August 13, 2014, Poole via his twitter announced that in January 2015, the 6th album of Poole would be released, the album would be called Monsters of the Universe: Come out and Plague and would be the artist's first concept album.
