Stockholm diocese is a diocese of the Church of Sweden , formed in 1942, which includes parishes located in Southern Uppland and northeastern Södermanland .

Prior to the formation of the Stockholm diocese, the parishes located north of the Stockholm gateway belonged to the Uppsala archdiocese , and to the south - the Strennes diocese .

The Cathedral of the Diocese is the Church of St. Nicholas in Stockholm . The diocese is divided into 13 contracts. In total, there are 69 parishes in the diocese.

Since November 8, 2009, the bishop of the diocese is Eva Brunne .
