She studied at the Music and Drama School of the Moscow Philharmonic Society at Vl. I. Nemirovich-Danchenko . Since 1898, as a student, was involved in the performances of the Moscow Art Theater. Admitted to the troupe at the end of the school in 1901. At the same time, she received leave to work at the Nezlobin Theater in Nizhny Novgorod (played Nina Zarechnaya in the Seagull by A.P. Chekhov, Rosie in the Butterfly Fight by G. Suderman, Francis in the Genshel by G. Hauptmann, Anja in the Children of Vanyushin S.A. Naidenova and others), then returned to the Moscow Art Theater.

In 1907-1908 she taught at the courses of A. I. Adasheva . In 1909–1914, she worked on her own drama school, where the Moscow Academic Actors IM Moskvin , KA Mardzhanov , VL Mchedelov , and E. B. Vakhtangov taught.

After 1917, Khalyutina worked in orphanages, Kozhevnikov clubs, Co-workers, the Red Fleet, in the Lermontov and Shalyapin studios, on courses to them. A. N. Ostrovsky. In 1921 she headed the one-season Theater. A. A. Blok.
