History
Before the revolution, Postol was part of the Sarapul district of the Vyatka province . According to the tenth revision in 1859, in the 63 yards of the state-owned village of Verkhny Postol, 356 people lived at the Postoloka river, 3 mills worked [1] .
In 1920, the village is part of the newly formed Votsk Autonomous Okrug . In 1925, the Middle Pole Village Council was formed, with the Middle Post becoming its center [2] .
By that time, the Upper Postol was divided into two villages: the Upper Nagorny Postol (or simply the Nagorny Postol) and the Upper Zarechny Postol (Zarechny Postol), located on different banks of the Postolka River. By the resolution of the Presidium of the Supreme Council of the Ukrainian Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic of 1956, instead of the eponymous name of one village - Upper Postol and Nagorny Postol - the name Postol was left [3] .
