Aplacophors [1] ( lat. Aplacophora ) - a class of mollusks deprived of a shell [2] . The body of these mollusks in most cases is very elongated, which creates some external resemblance to worms .

In the literature there are different opinions about the number of classes of mollusks. The aplacophore class is used in some old works and is a combination of the Caudofoveata and Solenogastres classes , although most likely these classes are not closely related [3] [4] .
Description
Aplacophores are found at various depths, sometimes at very large (3-4 thousand meters). They live in silty soils , eating detritus , or on the trunks of polyps , eating them. Since the structure of these mollusks is rather primitive (there are no organs of vision and hearing), they are inactive and uniform in behavior.
Most forms on the ventral side have a groove in which there is a thin skin fold covered with ciliated epithelium - the rudiment of the leg. Other parts of the body are covered with a dense cuticle , which in some forms reaches a large thickness.
