Content
Story
Brenda, Elise and Annie meet, almost thirty years later, at the funeral of the fourth friend, Cynthia, who after her ex-husband’s marriage to a young girl committed suicide. Despite the fact that all three seemed to be successfully married, each of them, over a decade and a half together, helped her husband a lot to her feet - all three meanly deceived by their husbands - they were abandoned for the sake of young girls.
Girlfriends decide to take revenge on their husbands, make them survive the same pain and frustration that happened to them. They are helped by the lady of the world, who herself was once the first, second, and third, and ... God knows whom, by the count of his wife, absolutely wonderful and wise Ganila Garson Goldberg. For the money raised in the process of revenge, the ladies decide to start a charitable activity and create a “First Wives Club” - a center of trust for all abandoned women. And Brenda even manages to get her husband back.

Initially, the role of Brands ( Bette Midler ) was offered to Barbra Streisand , and soon to Whoopi Goldberg , but both refused, considering the film stupid [3] . For the role of Annie claimed Meryl Streep , Sigourney Weaver and Glenn Close , in the end she went to Diane Keaton [3] . The role of Shelley claimed by Jennifer Aniston , Christina Applegate , Cameron Diaz and Sarah Michelle Gellar , but the role went to Sarah Jessica Parker [3] .
