History

The street is named after A. S. Moiseev , one of the leaders of the October Revolution , a member of the RSDLP (b) . In 1919, Moses was shot by the White Guards .

Moiseeva Street was formed in the first half of the 19th century and became the oldest in the area of the new settlement of Chizhovka. The reason for the creation of the street was the cemetery that arose in 1828 near the street, on the site of which there is now a circus and the so-called Park of the Living and the Dead .

In 1925, the street was divided, and these parts of the street were called the 1st and 2nd Professional, respectively. In 1962, the 4th Pushkarskaya Street and Kladbishchensky Lane were included in Novo-Slobodskaya Street, and after another 5 years the street was renamed Moiseev Street.

Since 1996, a new temple has been built on the site of the dance floor - in the name of the great martyr Dimitriy of Solunsky [2] .

Transport

Until April 15, 2009, tram number 2 ran along a small part of Moiseyev Street. During the period of maximum tram development, 4 routes ran along the street - No. 2, No. 14, No. 19, No. 21.
