Geography
It is located on the shore of the Berezovsky Reach of Lake Seliger , 60 kilometers from the regional center of Ostashkov , 28 kilometers along the lake to Ostashkov.
History
The name of the village most likely literally means “beyond the gulf”, since in Seliger the bays are called bows.
Near the village, the area is very hilly with many ravines, along one of these ravines there was an ancient stretch from Lake Seliger to Lake Shcheberikha and further to Novgorod .
From September 21, 1941 to January 10, 1942 the village was occupied by German troops.
Modernity
The resident population of the village is declining, at the moment there are about 20 households. In the summer of each year, the population of the village increases significantly due to summer residents and tourists.
There is a shop in the village.
In the village there is a marina, to which motor ships from Ostashkov perennially cruised on a regular basis in Soviet times, at present the ships have practically stopped sailing.
