Reginald “Reggie” Fils-Aimé , born March 25, 1961 ), is the former president and chief operating officer of Nintendo of America .

Biography

Fis-Aime was born on March 25, 1961 into a family of Haitian immigrants. In 1979 he entered Cornell University , and four years later received a bachelor of science degree in applied economics [1] .

Early career

At the end of his studies, Fis-Aime worked for companies such as Procter & Gamble and Pizza Hut , and also served as Head of Marketing at Guinness . He later worked at Panda Express Catering, where he served as Senior Vice President. Being in one of the leading managerial positions on VH1 , he was able to increase the channel’s ratings by 30%, thanks to attracting a younger audience.

Nintendo

Fis-Aimee was hired by Nintendo in December 2003, becoming responsible for the sales and marketing activities of the company in the United States , Canada and Latin America . In May 2006, he took over as president and chief operating officer of Nintendo of America, replacing Tatsumi Kimishima.

Fis-Aimee gained fame in 2004 after his outstanding performance at the E3 Game Show. He opened the Nintendo conference with the following words: “My name is Reggie. I'm about kickin 'ass, I'm about takin' names, and we're about makin 'games ”(My name is Reggie. I'm going to kick asses, I'm going to name the culprits, and we will make games) [2] . For his unusual appearance and manner of behavior, many gamers began to call him the Regulator [3] . Fis-Aimee was married, now divorced; is the father of three children.

Reggie also gained fame at E3 2007, when he went on stage to demonstrate the Wii Balance Board and he uttered a phrase that immediately became a meme: “My body is ready!” (My body is ready!).

He resigned in February 2019, left his post as director on April 15, 2019 [4] . He was replaced by Doug Bowser, formerly the head of sales and marketing at Nintendo of America [4] .

After retiring from Nintendo, Fis-Aime created his own account under the name @Reggie and made his first tweet by saying “Hi Twitter community” (Hello, Twitter community).
