Gudauta municipality (until 2006 - Gudauta district ; abkh. Goudouka Amusement municipality ) is an administrative unit in Georgia , formally included in the Abkhaz Autonomous Republic . The administrative center is the city of Gudauta .

In fact, the municipality is located on the territory of the Gudauta district of the partially recognized Republic of Abkhazia .

The population of the region in 1989 was 57,334 people (including Abkhazians - 53.1%, Armenians - 15.4%, Russians - 13.5%, Georgians - 13.4%) [1] .
After the victory of the people of Abkhazia in the war of 1992-1993, the government of Georgia did not conduct a census of the population in the Gudauta municipality because of the actual occupation of the territory by the Republic of Abkhazia - partly recognized by the state.
