Ananiv ( Ukrainian Ananiv ) - a city (since 1834), the administrative center of the Ananievsky district of the Odessa region of Ukraine is located on the Tiligul river, 15 km from the railway station Zherebkovo . Known since 1767 as the Cossack settlement Anan.

History
Ananias is a biblical name.
Ananyev arose in the middle of the 18th century as the settlement of Anani (Anan). Sloboda was settled by Ukrainians on lands belonging to Turkey. The lands came under the rule of the Russian Empire in 1792 by the Treaty of Iasi. In 1834, it was renamed the city of Ananyev and became the center of the Ananyevsky district of the Kherson province . The population of the city in 1959 was 7.9 thousand people.

The emblem of the Russian period was approved on November 7, 1847 . In the upper part of the crossed shield in the golden field is the Kherson coat of arms; in the remaining part, in the azure field there are three storks, each standing on its nest, two near and one between them below.

B. Kena developed a draft of the city's coat of arms: in the azure field - three silver storks with red beaks, each standing on a gold nest, two near and one between them below. In the free part - the emblem of the Kherson province. The shield is crowned with a silver city crown with three teeth and framed with two golden spikelets entwined with Alexander's ribbon. The emblem is not approved.

Transportation
Ananyev is located 15 km from the railway station Zherebkovo . The M-13 Kropivnitsky - Platonovo highway (the Ukrainian-Moldovan border) goes through the city.
