A concert for George ( Eng. Concert for George ) was held at the Royal Albert Hall in London on November 29, 2002 in memory of George Harrison on the occasion of the first anniversary of his death. The event was organized by Harrison's widow Olivia and their son, Dhani . Eric Clapton and Jeff Lynn (friends of Harrison and his “brothers” in The Traveling Wilburys ) took over the organization from the musical side. Profit from the event, which was attended by more than 5 thousand people [1] , was transferred to the charity fund Material World Charitable Foundation .

Concert
The concert opened with a traditional Sanskrit prayer, the chant of Sarve Shaam . The next number was Anushka Shankar , the daughter of Ravi Shankar , who played Your Eyes . Then Anushka Shankar, together with Jeff Lynn, performed The Inner Light , after which Ravi Shankar performed Arpan (which in Sanskrit means “give”), specially written for this occasion.
The next was a comic episode with members of the Monty Python troupe - ( Eric Idle , Terry Jones and Terry Gilliam ) with the song Sit on My Face . The host of the concert, Michael Palin , also joined the Pythons, along with Neil Iness , Carol Cleveland, and special guest Tom Hanks , to perform the Song of the Lumberjack together.
The rest of the concert was played by George's Band - former The Beatles Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr , as well as musicians Eric Clapton , Jeff Lynn , Tom Petty , Billy Preston , Jules Holland , Albert Lee , Sam Brown , Gary Brucker , Joe Brown , Ray Cooper , Mark Mann (inaccessible link) , son of Harrison Dhani and a number of other musicians who have been heard on George Harrison's records for many years.
His friends performed songs of Harrison himself, from both the Beatle and post-Beatle eras, mainly in the original author's arrangements.
The concert was filmed, and on November 17, 2003 was released on DVD. The director of the video version was David Leland . A CD with an audio version of the concert was released on the same day, there are no recordings of the performance of Monty Python and Sam Brown .
