The Bow Wow Wow, who performed (under Annabella's piercing, expressive singing) [2] dance post-punk with a focus on percussion (dominated by the so-called “burundi beat”, an ethnic find by McLaren, which he had previously tested in Adam & the Ants), released two studio albums and 12 singles, two of which - “Go Wild in the Country” (1982, # 7 UK) and “I Want Candy” (1982, # 9 UK) - became hits in Britain. [3]

After leaving the Annabella group , which began a solo career in 1983, the roster functioned for some time as Chiefs of Relief. The 1998 reunion (the result of which was the album Wild in the USA , which, along with remixes, included fragments of a tour conducted shortly before this) took place without Ashman, who died of diabetes in 1995.

In 2003, Annabella reformed Bow Wow Wow: the lineup, which included guitarist Phil Gough and drummer Adrian Young from No Doubt (replaced in 2005 by Devin Bowman), performed only occasionally with concerts, the last of which took place in 2006.
