History
Coriel County was formed in 1854 from a section of Bell County. It was named after James Coriel, a border guard killed by the Indians.
Geography
According to the US Census Bureau, the area of Coriel County is 2,737 km², of which 2,724 km² is land and 13 km² is the water surface (0.47%).
