In 1701 - 1704 studied theology in Rostock under the guidance of Johannes Fecht , then spent a year interning in Flensburg with Johann Moller . In 1704 he defended his dissertation “On the unfair neglect and contempt of the language of Lower Saxony” ( lat. De linguae Saxoniae inferioris neglectu atque contemtu injusto ; German translation 1984 ), in which he defended (with reference, in particular, to 1 Cor 14, 7- 11) the need to use the Low German language in worship and teaching. In 1705-1710 worked as a home teacher in various rich houses of Pomerania, then lived with his brother in Copenhagen . From 1717 he served as a priest in Damshagen , from 1725 the deacon of the Church of St. Nicholas in Hamburg.
The main work of Raupach is the three-volume history of Lutheranism in Austria ( German: Evangelisches Oesterreich, das ist historische Nachricht von den vornehmsten Schicksalen der Ev.-Luth. Kirchen in dem Erz-Herzogthum Oesterreich, aus bewährten Scribentenrdnd undlundgen undlenden undlundbund undlenden undlundbend - 1740 ). In addition, he owns several theological works and “The Speech on the Benefits of Walking in Denmark” ( lat. Oratio de utilitate peregrinationis Danicae ; 1712 ).
The biography of Raupach was published shortly after his death by his nephew G.E. P. Raupah. Bernhard's other nephew, the son of his younger brother, the Stralsund organist Christoph Raupach (1686-1744), became the composer Herman Raupach .
